Olin Dyess

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Greens Creek Baptist Church for Mr. Olin Dyess, age 77, of Carson, MS who passed away February 20, 2011 at his residence. Interment followed at Greens Creek Cemetery. Rev. Bob Burge officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Service of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Pall bearers were Charles Ratcliff, Jimbo “James” Wilson, D. K. Brewer, Dale Dyess, Kip White and Kyle Hathorn. Honorary pall bearers were the men of Greens Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Olin Dyess was born on August 31, 1933 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. He was the son of Wiley Dyess and Ida Reid Dyess. He worked as a roofer and retired after thirty five years. He attended Greens Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Dyess is survived by his wife, Bernice Dyess of Carson, MS; one son, Kenneth Dyess of Carson, MS; two daughters, Debbie Hathorn of Carson, MS and Donna White of Columbia, MS; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Ratcliff of Carson, MS and a brother, Cleveland Dyess of Crystal Springs, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
