Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Crooked Creek Baptist Church for Mr. B. H. Stephens, age 83, of Silver Creek, MS who passed away February 18, 2011 at his residence. Interment followed at Stephens Family Cemetery. Rev. Chad Carney and Rev. Robert Dunn officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Service of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Pall bearers were Dustin Williamson, Logan Williamson, Shay Stephens, Tim Brown, Daniel Chicola and Geoff Borden. Honorary pall bearers were Caleb Stephens, Gerardo Santiago and the Deacons of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. Mr. B. H. Stephens was born on November 5, 1927 in Lawrence County, MS. He was the son of D. E. Stephens and Missy Herrington Stephens. He served in the US Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. B. H. worked in Maintenance, first with St. Regis then later with Georgia Pacific. He retired from the paper mill after twenty eight years. He was a deacon and member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. He avid beekeeper. Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife, Annie Ree Stephens of Silver Creek; three sons, Dr. LaRue Stephens of Long Beach, MS, Randy Stephens of Shivers, MS and Ricky Stephens of Brandon, MS; one daughter, Stephanie Langston of Silver Creek; eleven grandchildren--Julie, Ashley, Shay, Autumn, Summer, Sierra, Caleb, Cambrey, Dusty, Logan and Kelsey and eleven great grandchildren--Stephen, Simon, Dylan, Gunnar, Lily, Lahna, Matthew, Thomas, Gage, Alexys and Lanee; three brothers Billy Stephens of Monticello, MS, Roy Stephens and Kernice Stephens both of New Hebron, MS and three sisters, Ellisine Saulters of Prentiss, Bertile Polk of Collins, MS and Alpha Mae Reynolds of Monticello, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
