Evelyn A. Carter

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Whitesand Baptist Church for Mrs. Evelyn A. Carter, age 67, of New Hebron, MS who passed away February 16, 2011 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Rev. Charles Burnham officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Service of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Pall bearers were Matt Pressley, William Chism, David LeMaire, Jerrad Korin, Louis Myers and Glen Griffith. Evelyn Alice Carter was born on August 20, 1943 in DeRidder, LA. She was the daughter of William Louis Chism and Annie Darden Chism. She was a homemaker and a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband, H. T. Carter of New Hebron; one son, Rick Chism of New Hebron; two step-sons, Harry Carter of Prentiss, MS and Wilson Carter of Pennsylvania; three step-daughters, Peggy Carter and Patty Ray both of Rising Sun, MD and Rosanna Eurban of Wilmington, DE; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, David Chism of Moorehead City, NC, Larry Chism of Waynesboro, MS and Raymond Chism of DeRidder, LA and two sisters, Alice Moses of DeRidder, LA and Wanda LeMaire of Forked Island, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.
