Paul E. Sanders

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church for Mr. Paul Sanders, age 83, of Silver Creek, MS who passed away February 7, 2011 at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Interment followed at Cliburn Cemetery. Dr. Ron Ballard, Rev. Mike Sutton and Rev. Michael Giles officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Service of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Pall bearers were Gary Daughdrill, Leonard Rice, Bobby Cliburn, Walter Grice, Bobby Creel and Larry Henderson. Paul Everett Sanders was born on March 1, 1927 in Lawrence County, MS. He was the son of Frank Sanders and Betty Herrington Sanders. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. He worked with Canal Barge & Towing as a Marine Engineer for twenty eight years before retiring. He was also a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Silver Creek. Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cliburn Sanders of Silver Creek; daughters, Gwen Stephens of Silver Creek and Paula Daughdrill (Gary) of New Hebron; two granddaughters, Heather Rice (Leonard) of Cleveland, TX and Terah Alvarez (Pedro) of Madison, MS and one great grandchild, Jaydan Alvarez. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 1383 Ferguson Mill Road, Silver Creek, MS 39663.
