Hazel M. Wigington

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Hazel M. Wigington, age 98, of Prentiss, MS who passed away on July 18 at her residence. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery in Mt. Olive, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Trent Sullivan and Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Glen Higdon, Briant Holley, Randy McGovern, Mark Barker, Larry Burrow and John Hux.

A native of Jefferson Davis County, Hazel Mattie Wigington was born on March 27, 1914. She was the daughter of Claude Lee and Harriet Magee Lee. She attended Prentiss High School. She was the last living member of the PHS Class of 1932. She worked as a Nurses Aid at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital for twenty five years before retiring. She was also a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wigington is survived by her sons, James E. Wigington of Plano, TX, Don Wigington of Prentiss, MS and Joe Wigington of Ridgeland, MS; her daughters, Linda Brinkerhoff of Prentiss, MS and Margie Majure of Madden, MS; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and her sister, Nell Lee of New Hebron, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Wigington, three sisters and two brothers. Online condolences and a guest registry are available at www.saultersmoorefuneralhome.com.
