A funeral mass was held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS for Mrs. Hilda Kerley Hurst, age 82, of Slidell, LA who passed away on July 8 at AMG Medical Specialty Hospital in Slidell. Interment followed at Bethany Cemetery in Prentiss. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Father Peter Varghese and Deacon Bob Everard officiated. Pallbearers were Michael Kramer, Lynn Hurst Jr., Gary Armond III, Billy Hurst II, Mason Hurst, Eric Bertran, Jimmy Kerley and Ted Applewhite. Honorary pallbearer was Pat Bourne.

A native of Mississippi, Hilda Agnes Hurst was born on March 2, 1930. She was the daughter of William Joseph Kerley and Margaret Faler Kerley. She attended Nunez Community College and Loyola University in New Orleans. She was a Payroll Accountant for the Department of Agriculture in New Orleans, LA for thirty years. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette, LA.

Mrs Hurst is survived by her daughters, Sandra Kramer and Pam Bourne both of Slidell, LA; her sons, Lynn Hurst of Picayune, MS and Bobby Hurst of Covington, MS; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
